How do I return a book for a refund?

Return Basics

  • Returns must be received within 30 days from ship date or course start date (whichever gives you more time)
  • You'll need a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number -  generated when you print the return for a refund label from your My Account
  • Items must be in their original condition

What You Can't Return

  • Unwrapped items that came in shrink wrap (unless defective)
  • Items with opened/scratched off access codes
  • Products with broken software seals

How to Return an Item

  1. Log into your account at the Online Bookstore
  2. Select Manage My Rentals/Returns and select your order
  3. Select Return For a Refund
  4. Select quantity and reason for return
  5. Select Print Label & Complete Return
  6. Print your label and packing slip to include with your shipment

Note: The cost of the prepaid UPS label will be deducted from your refund. If you use another shipping method, keep tracking information for your protection.

Getting Your Money Back

  • Refunds go back to your original payment method
  • You'll receive an email once your item checks in, and the refund will be triggered at that time
    • Credit/debit card refunds typically appear within 3-7 business days
    • Financial Aid/Book Voucher refunds usually process within 24-48 hours

Special Cases

Marketplace Purchases:

  • Cannot be returned to our Distribution Center
  • Contact the seller directly for return options through your account
  • Return approval is up to the seller

Digital Items:

  • Ebooks may be eligible for refund only if:
    • Purchased within the last 10 days
    • Less than 20% of content viewed/printed
  • Access codes may be eligible for a refund only if:
    • Purchased within the last 10 days
    • Code has not been revealed (redemption doesn't matter)

Important: We don't process exchanges. If you need different materials, return your original items and place a new order.
